COMPANY OVERVIEW Contract Manufacturing Consultants (CMC) was founded to help original equipment manufacturers develop electronics assembly outsourcing programs. Robert Freid, founder and president, has over 20 years of marketing and program management experience with leading electronic equipment and contract manufacturing companies. Outsourcing of printed circuit board and end product assemblies can contribute significantly to a company's profitability and return on investment. Potential benefits include capital investment avoidance, faster product introductions, higher quality and lower product cost. Programs that are not well conceived, however, often result in missed end-product deliveries, delayed product introductions, high end-customer returns and inflated product cost. Since a company's investment in tooling and training is not readily transferable from one contract manufacturer to another, the profit consequences of a poor or sub-optimal outsource program can easily measure in the millions of dollars. CMC takes time not only to understand your product and process needs, but also to understand your business environment. We use proprietary economic models to reliably estimate contract manufacturer conversion cost and pricing for our clients products in key regions worldwide. With this strategic perspective and thorough research and due-diligence, CMC provides objective recommendations on appropriate domestic and international contract manufacturers. We help develop quotation request strategy and analyze the merits of incoming proposals. We also identify key implementation requirements and assist in arriving at a comprehensive manufacturing agreement. To
minimize possible conflict of interest,
CMC accepts assignments only from
original equipment manufacturers, not
contract manufacturers. All fees
are client-paid and set on a "per
project" basis. Engagements
typically involve one full-time
senior CMC consultant for a 3-4 month
period with pre-set progress reviews and
deliverables. |
