CMC has the tools and experience to help OEMs, who manufacture internally, address the complex make
vs. buy issues related to cost benchmarking and outsource feasibility. CMC conducts a detailed study of
direct, indirect and overhead support costs to determine the client's true costs of
manufacturing. We review supply-chain practices to estimate raw material cost reduction potential if
outsourced. New costs associated with outsourcing are quantified. We benchmark the client's internal process quality statistics to comparable CM metrics and estimate impact if
outsourced. Risks and possible inhibitors to successful outsourcing are identified in our summary
assessment.
Outsource feasibility analysis uses geographic locations that are likely to have providers of electronics manufacturing services that meet client-specific cost and service requirements e.g., Campinas, Brazil; Monterrey, Mexico; Penang, Malaysia; Southeast USA.
